In what will be considered a historic day in the annals of the education mission begun by Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba many decades ago, Sadguru Sri Madhusudan Sai launched the Sri Sathya Sai Loka Seva Gurukulam programme, beginning with the inauguration of a YouTube channel and a mobile app. The programme will provide a well-rounded education consisting of both secular and moral education.
Sri Sathya Sai Loka Seva Group of Educational institutions provides free education to over 4500 children, across 23 campuses in 18 districts of Karnataka and one in Telangana. With the guidance of Sadhguru Sri Madhusudan Sai, this new mobile education app will deliver high quality video classroom lessons to all children absolutely free of charges, serving those studying in various classes from VI upto II PUC (Intermediate) in English and Kannada medium.
While speaking about the importance of this app, Sri Madhusudan Sai pointed out that in these times of corona crisis where lakhs of children are unable to attend school, sadly there are those who are trying to profit from this opportunity and selling education through apps. “While those who can afford may benefit, crores of rural and underprivileged children would be deprived of learning. Therefore, this app would help those children who would otherwise not have access to high quality online content for their classes. This app is free and available to all without any discrimination whatsoever. Education is the primary right of every child and must be made available without charges”, He said.
The app will also welcome all volunteers who would like to share their knowledge of not only subjects, but even life and living in general, and train children on life skills, moral and spiritual education.
On this occassion, Sri S. Suresh Kumar, Hon’ble minister for primary and secondary education, Government of Karnataka, sent a video message wherein, he commended the wonderful efforts of Sri Sathya Sai Loka Seva Group of Educational Institutions for providing free high-quality value-based education. He congratulated the institutions for bringing out the app which will benefit not just the children studying in Sathya Sai Loka Seva educational institutions, but also the society at large, and wished all, the very best.
